PURPOSE
WHO WE ARE

A care provider built around the individual.

Earlston & Doune Care Services Ltd exists to provide thoughtful, respectful and professionally governed care and support within people's homes and communities.

We recognise that every individual has their own history, personality, relationships, routines, abilities, preferences and aspirations.

Because of this, we believe good care should never be reduced to completing a standard list of tasks. Support should begin by understanding the person and identifying what matters to them.

Our role is to work within agreed care arrangements to support wellbeing, dignity, independence and meaningful participation in everyday life.

OUR PURPOSE

Support that strengthens everyday life.

The purpose of care is not simply to help someone complete an activity. At its best, support can contribute to independence, confidence, identity, relationships and connection.

That means asking more meaningful questions: What matters to this person? What would they like to continue doing? What support could help everyday life become safer, easier or more fulfilling?

Our approach is therefore centred on individual needs, preferences and personal outcomes rather than a one-size-fits-all model of care.

OUR STORY

Built from a belief that care should remain personal.

Earlston & Doune was established around a simple belief: people should not have to fit their lives around a rigid model of care.

Care should recognise individuality and be delivered with respect for the person's choices, strengths, routines, relationships and aspirations.

As an organisation, we are building our service on strong foundations including responsible governance, clear accountability, workforce development, information security, safety and continuous improvement.

Our intention is to grow carefully and sustainably while protecting the quality and integrity of the support we provide.

VISION & MISSION

What we are working to achieve.

Our direction is shaped by the experience we want people receiving support to have and the professional standards we expect from ourselves.

01

Our Vision

To contribute to communities in which people who require care and support can live with dignity, choice, independence, confidence and meaningful connection.

02

Our Mission

To provide safe, compassionate, reliable and outcomes-focused care and support that recognises the individuality of each person and is delivered through responsible professional practice.

OUR VALUES

Principles that shape how we work.

We want our values to be visible in everyday behaviour, communication, decision-making and service delivery.

01

Dignity & Respect

We recognise every person's individuality, privacy, rights, choices and personal identity.

02

Person-Centred

We seek to understand the person before determining how support should appropriately be provided.

03

Integrity

We aim to communicate honestly, behave ethically and take responsibility for the standards of our work.

04

Safety

Safeguarding, appropriate risk management and workforce competence form part of responsible service delivery.

05

Inclusion

We respect difference and aim to support individuals in ways that recognise personal and communication needs.

06

Continuous Improvement

We value feedback, reflection, learning and appropriate action to strengthen service quality.

THE PERSON BEYOND THE SUPPORT PLAN

Everyday life matters.

Good support recognises the importance of independence, relationships, confidence and belonging.

Independence

Supporting people to retain appropriate choice, confidence and participation in everyday routines.

Relationships

Recognising the importance of family, friendship, companionship and meaningful connection.

Partnership

Working constructively with relevant professionals, families and representatives where appropriate.

PEOPLE FIRST

The person comes before the process.

Policies, systems and procedures are important because they create structure and accountability. But care must ultimately remain about people.

We aim to balance professional standards with a human approach, recognising that every person has their own preferences, abilities and experiences.

Listen to individual views and preferences
Respect personal routines and identity
Promote independence where appropriate
Protect dignity and privacy
Support meaningful personal outcomes
Review support when circumstances change
GOVERNANCE & ACCOUNTABILITY

Good care needs strong foundations.

Delivering person-centred care requires more than compassionate intentions. It also requires appropriate systems, competent people and accountable leadership.

Our governance approach supports areas including quality assurance, safeguarding, workforce development, health and safety, information security, ethical conduct, environmental responsibility and continuous improvement.

We seek to learn from feedback, incidents, complaints, audits and service review so that learning can contribute to stronger systems and better practice.
